In this two-week GenCyber student virtual summer camp in the morning of weekdays from July 12 to July 23, 2021 at University of Massachusetts Lowell, we will recruit 80 high school students. We target the New England area given that historically there were few GenCyber camps in Massachusetts and Maine.

We will achieve the following goals of the GenCyber program:

(i) Motivate high school students for cybersecurity related college programs and careers
(ii) Raise security awareness and cyber ethics among students
(iii) Personal computer with camera and mic

Our curriculum is based on the GenCyber Cybersecurity Concepts while covering the 10 GenCyber Cybersecurity first principles. The curriculum has five modules and each module includes a motivating game played between students and instructors, two lectures with hands-on labs and a special topic talk and discussion. The lectures will be delivered through Zoom video conferencing. The hands-on labs and demos will be performed through UML’s virtual Cyber Range, built on Xen Orchestra, which provides an intuitive and easy-to-use web interface.

Students will be admitted on a rolling basis until the camp is full. Please apply beginning on April 13, 2021.
