For each project, students with required skills are preferred although students may learn those skills in the summer program.

Project 1 - Usability study and improvement of Android authentication strategies

Description: In this project, students will perform usability study of Android authentication strategies such as face based recognition and privacy enhancing keyboard (PEK). Students will also try to improve such authentication for better usability.

Required skills: critical thinking, survey and interview techniques, Android programming

Project 2 - 3D authentication for mobile devices (Android)

Description: In this project, students will design 3D authentication using stereo cameras or other sensors with the depth sensing capability.

Required skills: critical thinking, Android programming, computer vision (opencv)

Project 3- Security and privacy analysis of IoT HCI

Description : In this project, students will analyze security and privacy of IoT devices, particularly their HCI.

Required skills: critical thinking, networking, traffic analysis, wireless networks

Project 4 - Attacks against mobile HCI

Description : In this project, students will analyze threats against mobile devices including various smart devices.
